Yikes, never heard of Fox. My opinion, always book with a known national chain! Sorry to hear you had a bad time.

For whatever it's worth, I've rented from Fox and never had a problem.

Hi StlBob, So sorry to hear about this. I usually double and triple check my reservation by phone with the car rental company 1 week before I leave. I got a really good deal from Dollar Car Rental at PHX. I got $90 for a week (Oct. 17, Dodge Calliber) via Dollar website. Maybe it's coz I picked up mid-week. Anyway, the total comes to $150 (all those airport fees, etc.). I booked it pretty far in advance--5 mos. But I called them as soon as i got to the airport because my flight was late 30 min. and the baggage arrival also was a bit slow. They kept my same rate, but changed the rental pick up time to 1 hour later. Dollar DOES charge $8/day if you want to add your spouse to rental. Avis does not. I guess I'm driving all during our AZ trip!! They have Dodge/Chrysler cars, which I prefer over GMC vehicles or Ford.

For all those folks picking up a car at PHX: One shuttle service takes everyone to a central car rental terminal about 15 minutes from airport. So, plan your pick up time according. I would estimate 45 minutes from arrival time to time to receive car.

To let everyone know, I booked the car with Fox on Sept.12th 07 and recieved my conformation.Like I said , I arrived at the car rental to find I had on reservation, it was canceled.. Needless to say , I was shocked!

Then when they told me they could rent me a car for $ 69.99 a day, I said, you have got to be kidding me. My wife was very upset. It was our anniversary weekend and my birthday that we chose to spend in Sedona ( which we had a wonderful time ). I had to run around the car rental to find a car to rent. It was a big weekend in Phoenix with the NL playoffs begining and parents weekend at the university. Car rentals were getting whatever they wanted for a car.The only thing I could find without a reservation, was at Avis. They gave me a choice of a Hummer or a Mustang for $ 89.00 a day. I had no choice but to rent one...took the Mustang. It cost me a total of $540.00 for the 4 days.

In my opinon, I would stick to a well known car rental to make sure that you have a car, for the price you booked it at on the website. I would not want anyone else to go through what I had to pay for a car. If you try to go cheap, you may find out the hard way. My total rental with Fox was to be $107.00 for 4 days. If you do book with Fox , you might want to also book with a different car rental for the same time, then if you get the Fox car, call and cancel the other car.

A few more things I can add. I called Fox when I returned fron Phoenix and got a answering system. I left a message as to why I was calling and that I would like to be called back. The next day I called again, and this time I got blocked from leaving a message , it just said "good bye". Tried again several times and got the same thing.

I e-mailed customer service and did get answered in witch Fox said they were "sorry for any inconvenience that Fox( Might) have caused me". They might have caused me? They also said they would give me a 1 day free car rental to make up for this, wow ,a whole $15.75.

We traveled to Europe this summer and never had a problem with Eurocar. We paid $800.00 for 16 days in a very nice car. Had a Great time.
