Restaurant Dress Code |

This topic was touched upon in a recent post but I'm still a bit confused. My wife and I will be in BA in early January. We'd like to avoid packing fancy clothes, if possible. We don't plan on going to any super high-end luxury restaurants but certainly to some nicer parillas, etc... Is it o.k. to wear jeans or even nice shorts to these places? Thanks for any help! tony |

January = Hot, TWaz, Hot !! :) You won't need "fancy"clothes but you will need light clothes. I would die in a pair of jeans in January .. wear the lightest cottons you have .. your wife might be happy in skirts .. or light capris or bermudas. The bermudas they sell here come all the way to the knee, very fitted, shop when you are here too !

Pack also a swimsuit...

Pay close attention to the advice to avoid jeans, for comfort. Bring linen pants instead. And of course you can wear linen pants to the restaurants. You would also be fine even at night in a pair of very nice shorts (solid dark color, pressed, knee length) and a long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up, if you also are wearing leather loafers (sockless) and not tennis or track shoes. If it's a hot night, you can see the outfit I described in restaurants below the top level, and certainly in "nicer" parillas (maybe not in Fervor, Cabana las Lilas, or Mirasol, but yes in La Cabrera, for example).
