Just wanted to pass along a recommendation. My husband and I took the Best of Buenos Aires walking tour with BA Walking Tours (www.ba-walking-tours.com) last week. We thought tour guide Carlos was great, and liked it so much we also took the Recoleta tour the same afternoon! We wish we had time to do the tango tour as well.

LOL, on the BA Walking Tour website, I loved this quote of some film maker..

"Porteños are Italians speaking Spanish who think they are English living in France..."

They do walking tours in Portland Oregon too..

Thanks for posting.

Scarlett,

I've heard something similar: a porteno thinks as French, dresses like an English and speaks spanish....with an italian accent...

and then they ask for our "true identity"....send us to therapy..!!

They are great indeed! I took several of their tours and also the tango one. Some people that walked with me had already walked before with other companies too in BA, but they say none was nearly as good as them. The BA-Walking-Tours (a.k.a. Buenos-Aires-Walking-Tours.com) guys are just 4 guys (Willy, Carlos, Martin and I missed the young girl's name). Two of them are Canadian, raised in Buenos Aires, the others I don't know (Willy sounds English). I asked them, and they are a small local company only doing Buenos Aires (not Portland, nor anywhere else). Pitty!

Oh I mistook the info at the bottom of the page with links to other walking tours!

http://www.portlandwalkingtours.com/

The names are the same too ( of course except for the city name)..

It sounds like a great way to see the town..
