Thanks for all the excellent advice on this forum, never known one with so much info!!!!

Four of us are going to the karbel hotel, 2nd may for 2 weeks, like to chill and do nothing for a few days then get out and about, thanks for all the previous tips for trips, parasailing, diving etc BUT can anyone reccommend a car hire company or any to avoid, ALSO any guide books for particular sites to visit, maps etc, thanks again for all previous and future advice

Hi JP

All of the tour agents in Olu D will supply car hire, so its a case of seeing who is cheapest/best car/etc.

We always hire from tinyakropol.com up in Hisaronu, have a look at his website.

As for any to avoid, apart from Bloody Gorgeous in the centre of Olu D - none to bend the truth to extremes. and Eftaly - near the Dolmus stop at the bottom of the hill, not very helpful people.

thats my personal ones to stay clear of.

Good Maps and Guide books of the surrounding area are a bit sparse, which is a shame, you may be lucky and find some in the local shops, asking the car hire people for the info sometimes can help.

There are a great deal of interesting places to visit, most are covered by the usual local excursions, use this as starting point for your plans, but there are a few places that get ignored so are usually very quiet, sites such as Cadianda, and Pinara are less than an hour away, yet I have spent time in each without meeting anyone.
