Driving from PE to Knysna

We are planing on doing the Schotia afternoon safari that ends at 9PM.

We have hotel reservations in Knysna the same night that we cannot cancel.

Is it advisable to drive back that night knowing that we will not reach Knysna past midnight.

Check with your accommodation - they might not accept you at that time of night.

It would not be a problem to drive from PE to Knysna at night. The journey will take approx 2.5 to 3 hours and the road is in good condition and quite safe. However I do agree that you would need to check with the establishment where you have made the booking to make sure that you will be welcome to check in so late.

I agree with the above. Check with your accommodation. It is difficult driving so late as some roads are not lighted properly. I don't know what the section from Scotia to the highway looks like. If you do decide to travel so late at night then just make sure your car is filled up and you keep your doors lock. Also don't stop along the roadside at night. If you do need to take a break then see that you stop at a well lit petrol station.
