Hello all, I'm open to all the tips you can offer me regarding this:
I will be flying into Jo'burg in mid-May for a niece's wedding. The wedding itself is in Pilgrim's Rest. The niece's fiancee has recommended flying in, staying overnight, then getting a flight to Nelspriut the next day...
I'm trying to stick to a reasonable budget: a hotel @ 100 bucks a night?
Public transport that might be cheaper than flying..if any at all?
Pardon my ignorance, but I really am just beginning the research and have ALWAYS found TAdvisor to have the most reliable 'boots on the ground' info.
I am reading all about this fear of crime business and need to say, I work in DC, which battles it out with another favorite place, Baltimore, for 'murder capital' of the nation, and don't feel frightened at all, but when I don't know an area, I'm aware of how much I don't know CAN put me in harm's way..so any tips are welcome...
Any advice on:
Where to stay in Jo'burg? I hope to keep it to $100 a night?
Is there little/no other public transport from Jo'burg to a rural area like Pilgrim's Rest?
Best bus/rail/airline from J-burg to Pilgrim's Rest?
I will be asking my niece's fiancee for more tips, but don't want the poor man to be treated like a one man tourist bureau. He has enough to sweat with my sister grilling him on how he'll have to treat my niece like the princess she is ;)
Thanks for any info...
