we have stayed there for a month last winter..or rather stayed a week at the start and a week at the end beacause we had to move out due to the noise.
For two weeks at the end of jan or start of feb the temple which is right next to the hotel (in our case our room was 10 ft away) they hold thier anual festival which might sound fun but beleve me it is not.
The noise starts before sunrise at 5.30am and finishes well after midnight and is on a par with rock festival volumes complete with fireworks and is truly unendurable. I am not sure the exact dates are always the same for the festivals.you need to check.
On a normal non festival week the prayers are qiute loud and still start at 5.30 am to welcome in the day and go on for a couple of houras or so so dont expect any lay ins. They seem to have broken there volume contols off when it was set at max.
We didnt sleep at all for the first week except on the beach in the day so moved out ( at our own expense as my travel were no help at all) down to the far nicer neelacanta hotel right on lighthouse beach.
The park hotel itself is at the top of the hill behind lighthouse beach and is ok..a bit basic and the faciities like the resaurant is very basic and there is no bar.No one at all ever ate in the restaurant except for breakfast.
The walk to the beaches is about 10 mins and ok but the coming back up the hill is a real pain especially when you come back from the beach and know you are going back down later to eat and drink ect only to have to slog back up the hill again. Take a torch if you use the back lanes, there is very poor lighting.
There are no othe bars or restaurants local to the hotel so you have to go down the hill to the beach.
The staff are ok but where other hotels will get you some beer for your room ,they would not, so you need to bring it back from the bars yourself or go to the one beer and wine shop at the top of the hill behind hawa beach.
I dont want to put you off but I would in hindsight far prefer a hotel at the bottom of the hill and would recommend the neelakanta which was very good or even better if you have the dosh the leela which is fantastic.
