Fish Alaska Log Cabin Lodge

Has anyone out there stayed at Fish Alaska Log Cabin Lodge? I checked out their website and the accommodations look clean and comfortable but you can't always go by the website.

We will not be fishing, we are just looking to stay a night or two in Soldotna on our way down to Homer.

Just a thought - I believe you are traveling with a kiddo - how about the Aspen Hotel?? It is right in Soldotna, I think it is one of the newest ones and has a pool. Might be a nice diversion. It is also not too far from the DQ and the Moose is Loose - a great bakery. :)

Thanks for responding Coalminer. Yes we are travelling with our son.

There is a buy one night get one free coupon in the Alaskan Toursaver for Fish Alaska, which is why I was asking about it. The coupon book has already paid for itself so I don't feel a great need to stay at Fish Alaska just because there is a coupon, but if folks liked it I thought we would give it a try. From what I understand it is a mile outside of town.

I will definitely look into the Aspen as well.

Thanks!

We spent 2 nights in the Aspen. It's a motel so not lots of charm but the plus sides were a laundry room (which helped keep down the need to pack lots of close) and a pool. Moose is Loose was indeed a great place!

I stayed there for 2 nights in '07. We also used Larry for a guided salmon fishing trip. The cabins are clean and comfortable - basic log cabins. We had a good time. If you look at the picture on the home page of their website we stayed at the cabin on the right. You share the boardwalk to the cabin with the other one shown. There was a momma moose and calf that hung out in the area below about 30 yards away. It was fun to observe them from the boardwalk - safe because we were above them. I'm sure your family will enjoy staying there. They are right on the Kenai River. They are about a mile from town - you go thru town and cross the river then turn left on the road that goes to the airport. Mary will send you a map once you make reservations.
