Hi all advisors,

We're heading to Anchorage this Friday for the first time, can't wait!!

Will be in Denali for couple days, then head to Homer on July 4th.

Any idea how to avoid traffic due to Marathon in Seward?

I think that the junction to Homer is far enough away that you should have issues other than road repairs.

We just returned from Homer last Tuesday June 23rd and there were repairs being made on the Seward Hwy and in Sterling.

Drive very late pm or very early am to avoid the most traffic.

The road was very busy yesterday. It took a good 30 mins longer than normal ( Anc-Seward) just because there's so many vehicles and some hold up traffic and create a long line behind them.

An accident near Sterling had the road closed in that area for a bit.

Always allow plenty of time.

is not like you have a choice. The best route, the worst route is all the same. You may fly with Era between Anchorage and Homer. It is 11-12 hours drive from Denali NP to Homer without any stops and delays
