Driving Route from Montezuma and Liberia

Going to CR in November despite the fact that it is rainy season! That being said, what is the best route to get from Montezuma (staying at the Nature Lodge Finca Los Caballos) and Liberia Airport? In looking at a map it almost looks like taking the Ferry across the Peninsula and then taking the Super Highway could be an option. How many hours will it take to get from Point A to Point B?
We also will be staying in Samara (El Pequeno Gecko Verde) before Montezuma and wonder how the roads will be from that Point A to Point B? We have experienced CRs roads in the past but have heard that along the Pacific coast rivers rise and roads cannot be crossed. Would really appreciate any insight to this! Thanks so much!
