Beachfront in Montezuma

Would really appreciate any suggestions for beachfront accomodation. Prefer to be close to town as we will not have a car. Many thanks! Just got back from CR (Samara, Monteverde, La Fortuna and Playa Hermosa Guanacaste) Loved every minute of it and can't wait to go back next year!

Simple but nice...Amor del Mar...B and B...close to the beach and to Montezuma waterfall entrance!

Ylang Ylang is a fantastic place. Best beach access, lovely grounds, gourmet food. Rooms within 25 yards of the ocean.

Thanks for the suggestion- I had looked at this one, but wasn't sure if it was close (walking distance) to town. We like to go out for dinner in the evenings and wanted the option to choose places to go.

It's a 10-15 minute walk to town. Room rate includes dinner as well as breakfast. Honestly, Montezuma isn't known for its gourmet cuisine--there really isn't anything comparable in town in terms of food.

Depends on your budget

Ylang Ylang

Ivans Beach house

The Beach Villa

Amor de Mar (less pricey)

Lucy's (budget)

All are in walking distance to town

For eating - no it's not New York, but you can get decent pizza/pasta at Allegro or Tironia), and you can get really good food at Cocolores, Sano Banano, Ylang Ylang and Playa Artistas. There is less fancy but perfectly good food at local sodas and more simple restaurants (just avoid the one by Hostal Jenny and Hotel Moctezuma)

We actually loved the restaurant food in Montezuma. Cafe Organico, Cocolores, Sano Banano, all gave us superb food.

We stayed up the hill at Mariposario and walked down easily, sometimes walked back up, sometimes cabbed it. Amor del Mar looked like a good location though fi you want to be a bit closer.

I would also vote Ylang Ylang. The beach bungalows are pretty much right on the beach (as close as you can safely build due to tides). It's a ten minute walk, but it's along the beach so you can't really get lost in the dark.

We are also looking for a nice clean hotel with a/c close to the beach and the town since we won't have a car either. What about Los Mangos - does anyone have experience with that hotel?
