as it has been recommended on this forum several times as one of Jaco's best kept secret places to eat
Any one who was a fan of the classic Costa Rica Chicharronera restaurant
"El Paso Del TIgre"
will be happy to know that the new " Rancho Santa Ana" restaurant
has just opened on the municipalidad road across the street from Morgan's cove hotel/ casino.
It is owned and operated by the family who was partners in the former "Paso", (who also have another restaurant in mataplatano), featuring essentially the same menu and recipes in a surprisingly very nicely constructed Costa Rican rustico style open air "rancho" restaurant. much nicer than any soda or the old "Paso Del Tigre"
I tried bocas of chicharrone's, (fried pork), soap mariscos in leche (milked based seafood soup), and callamares al aljillo ( garlic squids & rice) and some type of blackberry desert pastry (awesome) last night and everything was right on key.
I used to eat at paso del tigre on a regular basis, and highly recommend Rancho Santa Ana to anyone who want to experience some delicious, classic costa rican cuisine, wide selection of dishes, and very reasonably pricedEdited: 11:56 pm, November 16, 2012
