Lodging recommendations for San Jose?

Hi everyone!

We're heading down to Punta Uva in April. Our plane doesn't get in until about 3pm. We have been advised it's a good idea to stay in San Jose (or a few minutes outsides of san jose) because we'll miss our check in time in PU.

If you've had to do this as well, or know someone who has, do you have any good recommendations for a safe, convenient, nice lodge or hotel we can stay for one night before waking up and traveling to beautiful PU!? We'd love to spend under $100.00us for the night.

Thanks! Cant wait!

Might as well stay in San Jose since you'll have to drive through town the next day in any case. Not clear if you're driving or taking a shuttle to PV. In the city you could take a look at Casa 69 with rooms from $45-75 or La Giocanda, another small B&B, with rooms from $75-95 + tax and right around the corner from a great Italian restauarnt

Casa 69 is a great place to stay and a good place to head out for Puerto Viejo. Well within your budget too!

My wife and I just got back from PV. We stayed in San Jose our first and last nite of the trip. We stayed at Casa 69. It is a very nice B&B. Room with a queen size bed is $50. They will also arrange to have a driver pick you up at the airport for $20. They have a king rooftop room with a deck that overlooks the city for $69 or $79. It was awesome!
