Need a car?

We are planning 4 to 5 days in Nosara in a vrbo rental. We can't decide whether to have a shuttle drop us off there, or rent a car for the 6 of us. Would we be able to walk to the beach, restaurants, town, etc?

Would it be smarter to fly into liberia instead of sjo?

If you are going to Nosara...the best of course LIR...and yes great idea to have a car in Nosara....maybe a big Toyota Prado 4x4 ...certified for 7 passengers by the DOT...the jump seats in the back kind of funny but ok for a few hours...and most of the luggage have to go in the top...some will fit inside next to the other jump seat...

Or take a shuttle all the way...and then have a car once in Nosara!

Nosara is both the name of a town, 3-4 miles from the ocean and the name of the area between the town and the Pacific beaches of Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada. Whether you can walk to restaurants and the beaches depends entirely on where your rental is located. See more info and maps at http://visitnosara.com/map.html In any case I'd suggest renting a van so you;re not always chasing taxis to get around and explore.

Nice to have a 4x4 in that part of the country. We rented a big Hyundai Galloper for our group of seven and work out great, make sure you ask for luggage rack when you reserve.
