Travel from Arenal to Monteverde

Hi.. Any recommendations on how to get form Arenal to Monteverde for a family of 4 (kids ages 8 and 11)?

Thoughts on the shuttle, boat, horse, shuttle option?

Regards,

The van-boat-van (a.k.a. jeep-boat-jeep or taxi-boat-taxi) is the easiest way to do Arenal-Monteverde. Horseback riding is tough, both for animals and for not experienced riders.

Jeep Boat Jeep is the best and easy way to get to Monteverde, check this link to see more arenalonline.com/tours/…jeep.html

Jeep Boat Jeep...$ 32.00 per person...same price for every body...you can book the service direct...you do not need any on line operation...they just look for commisions...

By horse nice but totally agree with Xelas...

We used Jeep Boat Jeep through Desafio, and it was great. It makes the trip shorter, and you get beautiful views as you cross the lake. Pretty affordable as well.

For the taxi-boat-taxi just make sure your hotel in La Fortuna is on the "drop-off" list which means close to the main road. If it is not, you may want to opt for a private driver. :-) Enjoy!
