My husband and I are very excited for our first trip to Costa Rica to celebrate our 10th Anniversary! We will be there the end of February and staying 4 nights at Nayara before heading to the Westin. I was hoping to get some advise on activities and restaurants in the area.
We've narrowed down our must-do activities to the following:
Hanging Bridges (with a guide)
La Fortuna Waterfall (no guide)
We will have 3 full days there, but want to leave plenty of time to relax. We don't like to rush around and fill every minute of everyday. We are laid back, casual and like to leave time for spur of the moment adventures :).
I plan to book everything on our own, rather than through the hotel to save some $$. We will also have our own vehicle. I want to get an idea of how long each will take. How much time do the Hanging Bridges and Ecoglide take? I read 2-3 hrs for the waterfall. I think we'll plan to do one activity each morning, except the hot springs, which I'm not sure if we should book for an afternoon or in the evening for dinner. Is the Eco Termales dinner any good?
We'll probably eat a couple nights at Nayara, but also want to try a couple local places for dinner. Which La Fortuna Restaurants are good for dinner, which ones are better for lunch?
Is there anything else we definitely should do? How about the Arenal Observatory? Is Sky Tram/Trek any better than what we are already doing? Any other advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance! Can't wait to be there!!!
