Somewhere to eat near Tabacon Hot Springs

We are going to visit Tabacon on an evening pass. I don't think we want to eat at the Buffett. Is there an option for a restaurant close to the resort or should we get something before or after in La Fortuna? We are staying at Leaves and Lizards. Also, I saw there was a swim up bar where you could get some food at Tabacon ? Is that an option?

Cascajo's del Arenal is probably the closest soda to Tabacon. It is just west of Tabacon, about a mile past as I recall. The reviews were really good for this place, so we gave it a try on our last visit. It is just OK, in our opinion. Going back toward La Fortuna, El Noivillo Del Arenal is probably the closest soda. The food here is pretty good, but not great. of course there are several pretty good places to eat in La Fortuna. The swim up bar at Tabacon is not really an option for dining.

Cascajo's is the closest, but I am pretty sure they are only open during the day. El Noivillo is also close. The food is okay, but not the best. It used to be great when the lava was flowing as the restaurant was lined up perfectly with the flow for a few years. There are plenty of other restaurants on the way to Fortuna if you want to try something different. IMHO, the buffet at Tabacon really is not that bad. We eat there every time we go and have never had any complaints.
