We are going to La Fortuna for 4 nights at the end of January, and will be whitewater rafting, horseback riding and ziplining. Do we need to get Hepatitis A shots? Is malaria an issue? Thanks in advance for your input.

No shots necessary.
I've been to Costa Rica many many times and never seen anything for shots needed. I'm sure there are some recommended (just like you probably don't have all the shots you could have for the U.S.).

No shots necessary.
Agree with others no shots thanks God..

Agreed with the others. Here is what the CDC has to say: …cdc.gov/travel/destinations/costa-rica.htm
I always recommend shots of Ron centenario, you can get them in Costa Rica.
Hep A is good to have even in the US.
It may be a 2 part series
the cdc hep a map shows costa rica as an intermediate Hep A risk, I would get hep a (though most travel agents never mention shots). I think hep a is good for a long time 10-15+ years
