The Arenal Springs...very nice people...good location...nice hot springs on site!

Not drunks at hot springs...more family oriented !

It is just 8 kms from La Fortuna...many taxis available...check...Don Rufinos...good food and some sunset crowd...

Nenes also great food...Perlitas restaurant by main park...funnu looking place like ahuge ugly cone...but great food...next door a popular kind of modern bar...

Agree with Road Advisor, I also like Campo Verde, a simple family style cabina, views of Volcano. No need to go to town, the steakhouse next to Campo Verde across street is excellent grass fed, the beef in this region is some of best in the world IMO, from a Chicago steak guy...

Agreed with the above. Arenal Springs is a better option IMO. Cabs are easy and Baldi can become obnoxious in the evening. I can see why some may enjoy the affordable hot springs, but the music is too loud for a hotel stay.
