I have perused these forums and found several recommended shuttle services so we can get from SJO to La Fortuna. I've tried:

However, our flight is scheduled to arrive at SJO at 2:30 pm (14:30). After getting our luggage and going through customs, I'm guessing we won't be able to board a shuttle until 3:00 or later. It seems these shuttles all leave before that to go to La Fortuna. Any recommendations?

We were hoping not to spend more than $100 for BOTH of us to get from airport to La Fortuna!

Desafiocostarica doesn't have any scheduled departures but does at least a dozen runs between SJO and Fortuna every day. They might get you there under your price point. They have an English speaking toll free number on their website.

You can also try a private driver, sometimes they can arrange a return trip on the same day or next.

Thanks! We were interested in Desafio's waterfall rappelling/canyoneering adventure, too. so we might just spend a little extra and go with them. Thanks for the ideas!
