Help with Itenary

We are trying to decide on how best to spend our 1 week. After reading lots of forum reviews, I am still a bit uncertain. The question is:

We will be staying 1 week in Dec. We know we want to stay in the La Fortuna area and do all of the "usual things" but is it worth our time to drive to Monteverde and stay a couple of nights? If so, what are the not to miss things to do in Monteverde area? If we drive to Monteverde we would be staying at the Hotel Belmer.

I would have to say yes, if you have the time. Monteverde is much different than Arenal. Must see's/do's include canopy zipline, the cloud forest reserve and hanging bridges.

I think Monteverde is worth seeing if you're interested in birding and seeing the cloud forest. We ziplined, did a hike in the reserve, and did a cool night hike at Hidden Valley where we saw a porcupine, a fox, and some other animals we'd never seen before. We had very cool weather at night when we were there and wore fleece jackets and sweatshirts. The big highlight for us was seeing quetzals.

It is worth to spend some time in and around Monteverde...great place to relax...and enjoy nature...couple nights good enough!

You can take the Jeep boat jeep transfer between Monteverde and Arenal...just $ 29.00 per eprson and is a door to door service...

Many great places to stay almost any budget...
