Arriving Shanghai off a cruise for one night. Have one day & night in the city.Staying at the Longemont. Looking for Restaurants near the Hotel if possible. Shopping on Nanking road advisable?
I am not sure what you are looking for. It is like asking for restaurants near a certain hotel in Manhattan. Lots of choices to pick from. TripAdvisor has a listing of some place. Shanghainese eat early, around 6 p.m. on. I am easy to please in China (other than being a vegetarian). Most popular places have authentic cuisines. Just avoid any place filled with large tables of foreigners.
What are your shopping objectives?
if you will stay at the Longemont, you can try the commercial area at Zhongshan Park, lots of shopping center and department stores. Not a problem to find restaurants there.
Near you hotel, i know a good one is called Dong Bei Ren, on Fanyu road close to Yan'an road., or 1221 on Yan'an road
