“ Shanghai to Anchang/ Tongli ”

I'm interested in visiting one of the less 'touristy' old towns and it seems that Anchang or Tongli has been recommended in here.

Just wondering how do we get from Shangai to these places? WOuld a day trip be long enough or is it recommended to spend a night there?

Anchang is lovely but I don't think you could do it in a day. (I haven't been to Shanghai since the Hangzhou Bay Bridge so things might be easier now). I overnighted in ShaoXing.

Tongli is definitely possible to visit in a day trip from Shanghai.

thanks for the reply. In that case I think we will go to Tongli.

I've read that there are buses departing from shanghai stadium to Tongli. Besides the stadium, would we be able to purchase tickets from the hotel? Which is the easiest way to get there? Train or bus?

tongli is very nice and worth to pay a visit. the easiest way is to go to shanghai sightseeing center in shanghai stadium to take the shuttle bus, only one bus i think and the time is around 8:15-8:30am, .price is around 130-150RMB including round trip fare + entrance fee to tongli. back time is around 4pm. better to get tickets in advance, you can buy it either in the sightseeing center in shanghai stadium or shanghai hongkou football stadium.

thanks! Can I just find out how many days in advance can I buy the bus ticket to Tongli from the stadium?
