Greetings,

I am preparing to leave for Shanghai this coming week and have yet to decide upon which of the two water villages to visit. Any assistance in helping me move forward in making a decision would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I (along with my travel companion) would much prefer to take a regular cab as opposed to the all day excursion bus tour. Simply not interested in stopping off to shop

Is a round-trip regular cab fare outrageously expensive? Any idea on pricing?

Personally I like Tongli since it is more quiet and peaceful.

Tongli is bigger and better. There's a beautiful Chinese garden which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Hello Ouolunch,

I am also planning to go to Shanghai within 3 weeks.I also plan to do a trip to Tongli, spend the night there, and go to suzhou the following day, before going back to Shanghai. I am therefore interested in the solution you took to go there: bus, cab ? We will be 2 adults and 2 kids.

Please could one of the Shanghai experts tell us what would be the approximate round trip taxi fare to Xitang or Tongli and indeed if it is possible.
