Does anyone know Holiday Inn Express ZHABEI SHANGHAI |
Hi there, I'm looking for a cheap quality hotel to stay in Shanghai and found the Holiday Inn Express ZHABEI SHANGHAI (1738 ZHONGXING ROAD), which seems to be quite close to the railway station. I know the area and it's fine for me. But does anyone know how close it actually is to the railway station / next subway station? Is it walking distance? Otherwise I would go for the Days Hotel (1558 Zhongxing Road), which is obviously very close to the station, but more expensive. Thanks in advance for your help! |
Yes, I think it's still within walking distance to the train station and metro. I personally don't like that area, but it's your choice.

Days hotel is slightly better than the Holiday inn though both th e locations r not that great either.
thanks a lot to both of you!

Is this hotel new? Can't find much about it. And the rate seems to be allright including complimentary breakfast + internet.
Just saw the hotel was opened in the beginning of 2008. For a planned 22 nights stay the average rate would be 384 + tax. This doesn't seem bad for me for a new hotel including breakfast an internet. Are there any candid pictures of the rooms available? Are the sightseeing attractions reachable by subway?

Hi Holiday inn and Days Hotel r almost quite equidistant to the Shanghai railway Station metro line 1 and 3.Both r relatively new hotels.Locality is not close to most Shanghai attractions though u can travel by metro.Surroundings r compact n busy. However the rate quoted r really reasonable enuf.
Thank you for your answer. So the hotel is a little bit out of the way but it is no problem getting to the tourists sites with the nearby located subway?
Yes u r rite.Location is not perfect but u can assess by the metro to the different places of attractions though it may be a little out of the way but its connected.Cheers!!!

Thank you very much for your input. I think i am going to book it, the price seems to be ok. I thought about getting an appartment, but renting a private one seems a bit risky to me and the commercial retailers charge a lot more.

I do not know that holiday-inn express, but my high school is around that area, so I knew the area well. Lots of bad guys but still considered very safe if you can survive Europe. Day's In n is very very new and the standard is like Westin or at least W hotel in the united states, although it is days' inn.
