Went to Botaira this past September for 8 days and loved it. The place is beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food is great. The sunsets are the most beautiful I have ever seen anywhere in the world. If you go here, you definitely won't regret it. If you go, please tell them Jane from USA (Michigan) sends her best and hope to return one day soon.

Both resorts are a little less luxurious than the CC or Castaway. Good little piece about Botaria at:

Just be aware that they are good resorts at their level, i.e. budget.

Have you thought about something different and heading north in Fiji? It's certainly worth it, and would give you a great taste of what else Fiji has to offer. I highly recommend Savusavu and Taveuni.

I just got back from Oarsman and loved it. No pressure from anyone to do anything, but good help, if you do. You can hike, snorkel, visit the villages, visit other resorts in the area. We loved the soft sand between the bures and the beach, no shos!!!

The beach is beautiful and makes for a great walk, very romantic place. If you go , tell Pip and Nick that Carla and Peter gave a great post for them.

If you want secluded, look up Matava on Kadavu. That is by far the most wonderful place i have ever been and i have traveled. This is real Fiji, and that staff there, well, i wanted to take them all home. They have an organic garden and the food, i put on lots of pounds, couldn't wait for the next meal. Lots to do, and the Astroble reef is right there. There is an island 5 min, by kayak(free) to kayak around and snorkle right off the magical beach.

We are going in March and think have finally decided - like you, we had done coral coast and Matamanoa. This time we are headed to the Yasawas - Nanuya Island Resort. This resort is newer - check it out! Then we are going far east to Toberua. Thought we would check out this side of the Island. Going to the northern islands also looks good - however, when I looked into this, the 2 places I fancied - Tui tui sailing adventure (looks great Stuart) is not operating in March due to boat renovations, and the Koro Sun Resort is closed also for renovations. If money were no object I would stay at the Costeau Resort! The next stop would definitely have been Kadavu. I have also been told the Matava is nice (my son spent time on the Island earlier this year). There seem to be quite a few new ones popping up on Kadavu as well - it is definitely worth checking out.

Awesome, you'll love Nanuya and Toberua. I can also highly recommend Matava, we go there to get away from it all a couple of times a year.
