Visiting in Montgomery next month

Hi everyone,

I'm going to Birmingham on 14/9 to visit a friend for 2 weeks.

I want so spend one day in Montgomery, but I need your help for things to do there. (I will have a car)

First, I will go to the visitor center to get some info from them and I heard that there is some trolley that goes around the city so I think it will be nice for the start, but what to do next?

And I will appreciate to get recommendations about places for lunch. (not fancy)

Wintzell's is always good for seafood. Martin's has outstanding country food.

If you're spending just the day, you'l probably be downtown. If you'd like to upscale your lunch a bit, I'd suggest Central in the Alley. www.central129coosa.com/ . It's in an old historic building yet chic. The food is very good Southern Fusion. As for what to do, you could visit the Capitol and just a block or so away, Martin Luther King's Church, Hank Williams Museum. etc. The visitor's center will help with that. Enjoy.
