I wouldn't be overkeen on going just for a week but if it was the only chance I got that season, then yeah, I'd take it too.

Probably all the hassle you have to go through, like getting visa's (thats a biggy). the cost is just as much for a week as it is for 6 months!!!!! that would put me off going for just a week.

but if your willing to do that, then good luck to you, and have a great time.

Definitely go for a week! It's only 9 or 10 hours on a direct charter flight. If you're clever, you may be able to get an extra day or two by flying with a scheduled airline via Bombay, particularly if you choose to leave on a Friday evening and fly back on a Sunday morning. We did that at Easter for just over a week - picked out a flight that left Heathrow at 9pm-ish so went directly to the airport after finishing work. We flew out of Goa at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning, waited for a few hours for international flight back to Heathrow and the time difference meant that we were back in Heathrow by about 6 pm in the evening. Back at work the following morning, the jet lag works in your favour as it wakes you up and nice and early for the first few days back at work.

Although I'm going for 4 weeks at Xmas, I'm looking out for a cheapie on 28 November for one week charter flight as I've got a bit of additional leave to use up. If I see the flight cheap enough, I'll head out just for a week, notwithstanding that I'm going out a fortnight after my return in any event!!

I have managed in the space of a week to have 3 days in Hong Kong followed by 3 days in Dubai, 2 overnight and 1 daytime flights - Goa for a week is easy!

Yep I'd probably go for a week too - it is a long way but not much different to going to New York for 3 nights which I've done. Have one week's holiday left to take before the end of March and would have seriously considered going back to Goa for a week (providing the price was right lol) if my mum hadn't asked me to go to Sharm with her for a week instead.

Yes do it.

We go for two weeks every Easter, however this year we are also going for 1 week (first time) over new year.

In the past we have spent 24 hours on a coach to Spain for 5 days in resort at Christmas,so 10 hours on a flight to GOA is worth it.

Definitely go for it!

Our very first visit to Goa was for one week only. It was back in the old ‘Teletext Holidays’ days and we got an amazing last minute deal one Xmas eve for a week flying out New Years Day. Of course then you were able to get your Visa from the Indian Embassy. We drove up on Boxing Day (a normal working day at the Embassy), parked trotting distance away from the Embassy as London was deserted and the parking meters were free as Public Holiday, Embassy almost deserted too and we were back in the car within the hour ....... wish we could have that sort of luck with the Lottery!!

Yes a long flight but we had a great week, it was well worth it and we have been going back to Goa ever since.

Good luck finding a good deal and happy holidays

I go to Goa twice every year, have done for past 6 years. Myself and my daughter go for 3 weeks at xmas, last 3 years i have gone for 1 week at the end of Feb/march to see friends there. If it is your first time and just want to chill on the beach, then great.. but i would say it is a long way to go for a week, if you want to do the "sight seeing" stuff.
