Yes you will need an adaptor but you can buy one cheaper out there and at least it will fit properly as mine from home is always a bit loose in Goa and it's not easy trying to blow dry your hair with one hand on the plug lol.

Hi Mervyn

It's a round, two pin adaptor you'll need. As Gemma1 says, they are easy and cheap enough to buy out there. I took my own and it fitted well but we were in a new hotel.

Happy holidays!

Hi mervyncp, like Gemma said, the ones from this country are usually a poor fit so you'd be better off buying one there.

the usual problem with buying two pin plugs in uk is they are european standard ie spain etc. but indian standard is slightly different,if you are taking things with you like kettles hairdriers, chargers pop an extension lead in your bags then you only have to buy one adapter and they are cheap

I bought one there last week for just 41 rupees - not only does it work for UK plugs, but also accepts USA plug too (handy as I needed to recharge my USA bought noise reducing headphones for the flight back). As other have said, the adaptors there have 3 pins and therefore sit securely in the socket. I wish I had discovered the local adaptors about 6 years and 10 trips ago!
