 Sea Queen Anjuna

Stay away from the Sea Queen in Anjuna. The staff who we know well put a dead rat in our room. Another regular customer also had a horrible experience there. Outwardly they seem very nice but don't thrust them. My husband and I know the staff well and can deal with their creepy womanizing. Just check out how Arun stares at a potential catch. But putting a dead rat in our room and then quoting $400 rupes per night at first and then dending $800 a month later from regular customers is not good business practice.

I'd not argue with that statement.

Have you done a hotel review on this website to warn other people? I think most people would check reviews rather than a discussion forum to see what other travellers thought.

Why did the staff put a dead rat in your room anyway?

My husband felt that something was not right with us the first few days there. He asked one of the quiet waiters, who he knows, if the other waiters ever use pills in the drinks. He said yes. Word got back to them that we suspected that and that my husband would do something about it if it truely was what was going on. Neither of us do drugs or go to rave parties. Then one day I was totally traumatised when I found a dead rat by our bed. The only people who have access to the rooms are certain waiters and the owner. I am sure that the rat didn't just go to our room to die. I am deathly afraid of rats and still have flashbacks of that experience.

Are you saying that the waiters drug guests via drinks?

That is truly appalling!

I dont belive a word of it. I have stayed at Seaqueen many times. The food is excelent, the owner and the staff are friendly and very helpful and the rooms are spotless clean. Seaqueen is my number one choice in Anjuna and I look forward to my next visit.

To be fair, it sounds (at least to me) like the originator of the other post has a connection to this hotel.

Having said that, I thought the original post here was a litle on the strange side.

I think the original poster leaves many questions unanswered, the intent is clear but the details are vague. I am completely confused with the 400 per night and 800 per month part.

Seems like a tit for tat exchange going on here between the owners and an unhappy regular.

and to be fair if Rainmann is connected to the Sea Queen they are still quite right to post their version of events, (In the review section the management of a hotel can to reply to any reviews they feel are wrong or that there is another side to the story)

We did stay at the Sea queen 3 years in a row. The first two were great. But at the beginning of this year things were very different. I did not say they did drug us but both my husband and I felt very strange the first few days and only when we ate or drank there. He asked Rinko( don't know the exact spelling of his name) if the two womanizers ever used pills on guests and he said yes. That is what I said. As for the person who doesn't believe a word of it - My husband is an Indian and if you want I can request that he post his version of the event.

Two of the waiters are known womanizers and brag about each new conquest in very crude terms ( someone not understanding the language would not understand). Outwardly they seem so nice. We know of two Canadians who cramped their style because they did not like what they were seeing.

And They did put a rat on our bed! The chances that it came into the room and died on our bed is very very unlikely! Especially with the window closed. I am still traumatised by that!!!!

Also last year when they were giving us a good rate of 400rps/night they requested that were not mention it to the ppl next to us who were paying 1200rps.

We also thought it was a great place.

One of the waiters, Francis, is a very genuine person but John and Arun run the place with owners blessing it seems in any way they wish. Rinko came to my husband many times telling me how he was being threatened by them.

Maybe the guy who says this is BS should learn the language.
