Confused Brit? Which area to stay?

I have read all the the threads about locations and am still very confused about which location is best for us.

Last year we spent a week of our vacation in Destin in a condo called Windancer right by the Silver Sands outlet. The condo was perfect. It was not a high rise or resort and we were on the ground floor. My husband likes a smoke so it was easy for him just to go outside on the patio.

The only problem we had was that there were not really enough bars/restaurants to go to without getting in the car.We like to eat in one night and then maybe go out the next or just go for out for a couple of drinks and a snack.

I have started to look at VRBO and keep getting headaches because I just seem to be seeing large condos/resorts.Are there any smaller condos out there?

Please help,running out of aspirin!!

Look on www.vrbo in gulf shores central, at ocean reef.

It is three doors down from a Restaurant/ bar.. beach front

Mexican restaurant across the street, the hangout bar /restaurant is just up the beach..

Ocean reef are townhomes, a few are direct beachfront, the others have beach views from an angle

we stay in the really tall highrise next door..

The beach is never crowded, and you will like the location..

We will be back in september , you will like the weather then, and smaller crowds

The very nature of a barrier island being long and narrow almost constitutes having to drive some to find restaurants and bars but with that being said I think West Beach will have the most opportunities for a condo that suits you and still has walking distance to a few bars and restaurants.

Thank you for the info. My dates have now changed and it will be the first week of October. I presume the weather will still be OK.

October is a great month to be here. The weather is typically very nice then.
