Hi,
This is my first time traveling to India. I am flying into Mumbai at 1:00am and then to Bangalore at 7:00am. What should I do in between? Should I get a hotel? or just wait it out at the airport? Is the domestic airport even open at that time?
Interested in Mumbai (Bombay)?

Wow!... it's a tough one... well what can you possibly do @ the airport for 6hrs?... the answer is "get bored"... bring in your laptop... that will help you to kill some time & those latest DVDs, grab a coffee & something to munch on...
If i were you i would rush to the nearest hotel, drop my bags then head to the Bandra/Juhu's most happening clubs, but that's just me... i personally wouldn't recommend it as i've missed quite a few flights this way.... unless your looking for some adventure :)
Good Luck :)
After taking into account time at Immigration, Customs, getting to hotel, getting back, reporting an hour before the flight, you get maybe about four hours in between. Airport is not the best of options for a quick shuteye, but hardly worth going to a hotel either.
In the Jet Airways terminal (Terminal 1B), last week I spotted one bank of seats beyond Security Check, which did not have armrests. There was a tired overseas traveller sleeping there. In the other terminal, I have felt that one could open out a yoga mat next to a quiet pillar in the check-in lounge and stretch out. Not great or dignified options, I know, but...
Cafes may open only early morning, but you can get a coffee and some food before the flight. Perhaps Cleam could elaborate what he/she did at the domestic airport.
While at the domestic airport, do get hold of a suggestion card and suggest a rest area for overseas travellers. They do reply.
RuffMumbai,
Good to see you back, wish you posted more often..........
With your posting rate, I find it hard to get a word in edgeways, Yogi ;)
LoL, Actually I have slowed down a bit......
I see that Cleam is giving you good competition. If you slow down, she may just overtake you :0)
Ohh.... I will brace up....
I can't let that happen.......
How can I allow myself to be overtaken by a Malayasian, who asked in one of his posts whether food is available in Singapore or not .......
To me a Malayasian who has never been to Singapore is like a Delhite, who has never been to NOIDA or Gurgaon..... ;-)
