its going to be my first trip to mysore, wondering which hotel would be best to stay..we were thinking of the metropole or the regaalis...

any suggestions please/

The Metropole is a beautifully restored hotel at just two levels with a nice ambiance . Most local people feel the food is better at Regaalis which is next door, but is not as attractive to look at or stay at.

i took a look at the south indian tour and it surprised me!!!

im tempted to go daily trips ooty, cochcin, allegeny, munar and thekkady...

can anyone advise me if this is at all possible with mysore as homebase??

My personal choice would be the Fortune Hotels JP Palace. Check my review on the same.

Nope... Can't do day trips to any of the places you have mentioned. The places you can consider for day trips would be Bandipur, Wayanad, Coorg and if interested in architecture, Belur, Haleebedu, Shravanabelagola etc.
