BTA stands Basic Travel Allowance. The amount a Nigerian is allowed to travel with or convert when travelling out of the country. Its to safeguard against money laundering by Nigerians.

It's certainly not paid to anyone.

If you are being asked for BTA, it probably means you have already paid for other things, like airtickets, passports, visas..etc

It is a scam where your 'lover' systematically milks you dry of money.

If you do not believe us here on this forum and send him bta money by western union, I am certain that there will be a further problem that needs more money to resolve.

There is actually no such thing as BTA. You can google the term and find that it is linked with scams.

Usually, after paying BTA (or your lover claiming to settle the problem himself, a fake accident is staged where your 'lover' is supposedly involved in a accident and needs money urgently from you for emergency surgery. A doctor will contact you. Read other posts here with questions about this or that hospital and you will see victims at that stage of the scam.

You do not have a lover or friend coming to you. You are talking to a bunch of nigerian boys in an internet cafe, or a sophisticated romance scammer.
