Nov Weather Conditions in Merzouga

We are planning a 14 day trip in the beginning of November to various cities in Morocco and will be covering a Sahara Camel Trek from Merzouga. We are concerned about the weather conditions at this time and will be disappointed if the camel trek got cancelled due to rain. Any comments on weather conditions in November would be appreciated.

Weather is NEVER predictable.

Merzouga is in a semi-arid region which is mainly stony surface but in a few areas is sand. Yes it can rain there, even hail, and even flooding. It can also be cold if there's no sun to be had. But it can also be warm and sunny. No way to predict.

I was in Merzouga/Erg Chebbi in the middle of November last year, and stayed at Les Pyramides Hotel. There was a music festival going on at the time, and that may be true for this year as well but I don't know for sure. There was a mix of weather, never too hot or cold, there was some rain and a windstorm.

Like Tim said, weather is completely unpredictable. Just go with the flow and take it as it comes. →No need to feel "disappointed"←. It's not the end of the world if you can't go on a camel trek.

This "few areas" is anyway about 28-30km long and in the widest part it is 10km, enough to get lost there :). And stony surface belong to the desert too. Gravel and sand and stones and mountains too.

Flooding can be even in the deepest Sahara, rainy also.

Anyway, I was there more times in November, December and January and the weather was nice, sunny and in December around 18-20 degree at day, in sun right so warm. At night 10-15. In sand dunes colder.

But of course, the weather does what it want to do :).

agree with comments above, never get predicted, but often November get dry and cold, sometimes it's chilly by night and sunny during the day so it's good, you can ask for flexibility of your tour, so in any case if it's rainy don't do it, and if it's not go ahead with your choice.
