Resort with kitchenette facilities

Since we are going to stay in Redang with small baby (who is very fussy in meal) could you please specify which of the resorts on Redang provides apartments with kitchenette facilities, frige? (if any). If no one, please specify whether it is possible to buy some fresh meat/fish or poultry, vegetables, fruits on Redand?

Thank you for your kind attention.

Deeply sorry to say ,most of resort and chalet don't have your requirement at Redang Island ( Long Beach / Teluk Kalong ) .Redang Island is tourist attraction and most tourist will take package included meals, transfer and accommodation. Unless you stay at Kampong...which locals people stay there...but no beach and no resort..all you needed is there.

Thank you very much for prompt reply!

We are planning to stay on Redang for 7 days, thus a meal is very important for us.

Could you please also advise whether it is possible to buy some fresh fruits everyday on Redang? Is there any local market? So far as I understand from your reply Kampong is a village where the local people live, and thus the market may take place in Kampong? Whether it is difficult to get to Kampong (for example by boat) from main beaches and buy some fruits and others in the market or from local people?

Another option which we are considering is to ask a cook in a restaurant near a resort to make some dishes suitable for us (for example not very spicy food), is it possible?

Thanks a lot for your attention.

I not guarantee you can get fresh fruits from Kampong at Redang Island. Its too limited unless you bring its together from mainland.

There water taxi available from Long beach to Kampong jetty..but its will cost you around RM200-RM300 per boat..its too expensive.

I not sure about cooking request for customer by resort available or not. Well there many places to eat up such Laguna Redang and Redang Beach Resort..its bit limited but its more then enough..

There really isn't really much in the way of markets or produce to buy. Its not that kind of island. All stuff has to be transported in from the mainland, and fresh fruits is not high on the list of priorities. The transporting of produce from the mainland is mainly done by the resorts for their own kitchens and supplies.

A small island fishermen settlement village is somewhat different from mainland agricultural village. Perhaps the OP, and me too, wants to know whether there are cows, goats, chickens, etc and what fruit tree types are on Redang Island.:)
