Hotel Dilema

I have read up on a lot of hotels and have narrowed down to the areas of Lagoi and Tanjungpinang.
Nirwana Resort or Hotel Laguna
We are two friends coming over from Singapore to have 5 days in Bintan. We want to sun bathe and relax but also do the elephant trek and possible a secluded beach. I know the ferry gets into Tanjungpinang but like to sample local food from hawkers and local places, so want to know which place is the best for us.
