hi my boi and I went to Thailand last March 2006. I am 22 and he is 26 years of age.
We travelled to bangkok, koh samui, phuket and phi phi island.
I am going back this May with some g/fs and adding Koh Phang An to our trip.
Phi Phi is gorgeous, if you can afford it I would recommend staying at Phi Phi island village resort and spa --- rated number one for a reason! You must remember that phi phi has no roads so you can only travel around the island by boat. Most travel agents will tell you not to stay on phi phi is bor-ing. I beg to differ we stayed 4 nights and wanted to be there longer. Its relaxing, plenty of massages, nice food. Its about a 2.5 hour boat trip from phuket but well worth it! There was great snorkelling, you can hire jet skis, kayaks or a long tail boat and explore with a guide. We went to maya bay where the beach was filmed. You will need a trip to phi phi after the hustle and bustle of Phuket. Phi phi was hit pretty bad i heard in the tsunami but it was fine when we went there. I didn't detect any damage as such. I also recommend Banyan Villa Resort --- its in a prime location close to the night life.
Phuket --- I didn't really like all that much but definitely still worth the trip. The people there are decieving and quick to make a buck. We did a lot of tours there which are quite cheap. Elephant riding, thai boxing, snorkelling, jet skiing, canoeing through caves, james bond island etc. We stayed at the Thavorn Beach Village Resort, some of the resort hadn't even been fixed yet from the Tsunami even tho its a couple of years now. I recommend the Holiday Inn Phuket, Baan Lamai Resort, Royal Paradise Hotel.
