Diving for beginner

Can anyone suggest a dive company to go with in Kho Lanta? Had a look at a few places but are hugely expensive for beginners. Don't mind paying for it and not looking for the cheapest option but was quoted over 13000 batt for one day. Have done a PADI introduction already but never open sea.

The leading dive companies on Lanta are Palm Beach Divers, Kon-Tiki and Lanta Divers. The open water course is lasting 3-4 days and these dive shops offer it for 14'900 Baht. What you're quoting is not for one day, but probably the open water course price offered by a lower ranking dive shop, but it will last 3-4 days, as well. Learning diving is not done within one day, but requires careful tuition in the class room, practice in confined water or a swimming pool, before going out into the ocean. There is the discover scuba course offered by these companies for 4'900 Baht, last one day, but afterwards you're not a certified diver. This is most likely the introduction you've done already.
