I'm staying in Tumkur, Karnataka and will be plying from Bengaluru to Kodaikanal sometime in the early half of next year. Could you please inform me about the right time to go there, it's distance from Bengaluru, and the best mode of transport that I should opt : bus or train, the nearest bus stand and railway station?

lol... yes the road is good from Dindigul, butttt

driving up the hill can be quite an experience

lots and lots of hairpin bends, being met by

buses and lorries, flying down the hill at great speed

and the four by four drivers all think YOU have no

right to be on THEIR roads...lol... and please remember your woolies

hi freakytree

are you sure about "lots and lots of hairpin bends" ??

i have traveled with only 2 hairpin bends in kodaikanal. In-fact it is best engineered to lessen the hairpin bends.

just correcting the information :)

so how many bends are severe if not what you would call a hairpin are there

i have visited perhaps a dozen times, and it is hair-raising if not hair-pin

that coupled to the quality of drivers makes it quite dangerous in my mind
