Hello Fellow Trip Advisors!
My fiancée and I are planning on making a trek to the Croatian coast from September 8th to September 15th of this year. We definitely would like to see Dubrovnik as we heard that the city wall walk is a must. We have also heard good things about Hvar and Korcula. Having never been to any of these places before, we want to know how much time we should spend in each of these places and if we should really be checking out different places instead. To give you some background, we both are active people who enjoy beautiful landscapes, photography, coastal scenes, great food, and good wine. We would also ideally like to have a couple of days relaxing somewhere on a beautiful beach. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
As for traveling along the coast of Croatia, I have read that the ferries are difficult to coordinate especially at this time of year. Are we able to book catamarans in mid-September? Do we have to book these in advance? Is a car recommended over a boat?
Also, would you recommend flying into Split and working our ways south to Dubrovnik? Or would you recommend starting in Dubrovnik and making our ways north to Split?
And, finally, if any of you would have any suggestions of nice, comfortable, clean, mid-priced accommodation please pass on the info!
