are there any all inclusive resorts in brazil. rio or copabana or anywhere. i am looking to book a honeymoon, and would like something different but beautiful |
|
We are going to the Iberostar Bahia in Praia do Forte which has not long opened for our honeymoon next September on an all inclusive basis. We've also booked to go on a 4 day tour while we are there to Rio and Iguassu Falls which is bed and breakfast.

I was just at one in Florianopolis, Costao do Santinho. The Brazilians who were there said it was one of the most exclusive and nicest resorts in Brazil. My opinion, as a gringo, was that it was overbilled and not worth the effort. The biggest problem with it is that you pay for your food and while they had 2-3 different restaurants, the food, after a day, all started to look the same, same fish, same rice, same desserts, same steamed veggies, so on. Plus, they nickle and dime you to death with extras. 3USD for a beer that costs you 1USD at the bar down the street, 2USD for 250ml of water when you pay 1 USD for 2 liters down the street and so on. I would think you would be better off getting a nice hotel in Buzios or Parati and enjoying your choice of restaurants.

actually, I have since stumbled across what would might be considered a Brazilian resort (just don't confuse it with a mega US Marriott type of resort) in the Joatinga section of Rio (in between Sao Conrado and Barra Tijuca). The hotel is called La Suite and is part of the Kiwi Hotel Collection (kiwicollection.com) and is a real intimate getaway, includes a special chef that prepares a special meal you select earlier in the day, and has access to water sports right on the property's private beach. Not cheap at $ 380 - 450/night, but an impressive hotel.
