Suggestions for Family fun in Appleton during spring break

The kids and I are meeting my husband in Appleton while he is on business. I have been looking for things to do while we are there. I've seen the hydro-electric house, the castle museum and paper factory as possibilities. I was just wondering if there's any off the beaten path places that would be good to see while we are there. I wouldn't mind driving 30 minutes away either. Also my husband is a bit of a foodie. Any got-to-have foodie places around?

The Evanswood Village Shops are eye catching from the road! You could check those out...it's near Appleton:

30 minutes out is the Airventure Museum in Oshkosh (think EAA they hold a big summer event every year, the fly-in)

Green Bay: 39 minutes out

It's a fantastic area with great features. Visit Bay Beach is in the summer it's a small scale on the water amusement park that will remind you of the days of old! Rides are fifty cents! Little kid rides are a quarter. Concessions are equally cheap. The rollercoaster is $1.00. There's a go cart place next to Bay Beach as well. Visit Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary (FREE) across the street from the Amusement Park. If you get a chance take in the National Railroad Museum which is excellent. The NEW Zoo is very nice. There's botanical gardens in Green Bay. Also don't forget Seroogy's Chocolates and a stop at Lambeau even if you're not a Packers Fan. Titletown Brewing has great food.

The Castle Museum is great, the kids would enjoy the Houdini Exhibit (one floor of the museum.
