Restaurants near the Econolodge Metro

Anyone know what restaurants are near the Econolodge Metro (besides the expensive French restaurant)? We'll have our car so we don't mind driving a few miles for dinner. Chain restaurants are fine, we don't need anything fancy especially since my daughter is a picky eater. I wasn't able to find any recent posts on this searching the forum. (I saw posts from 2006 but for all I know those places could be closed by now.) Thanks.

Here are some local places that have been family favorites for us:

One of our favorite pizza places, Joe's Pasta and Pizza, is not far away. http://www.joesplacepizzaandpasta.com/

A little further down the road in the Lee-Harrison shopping center is an Elevation Burger and Pie-tanza (another of our favorite pizza spots)

And finally, there's Metro 29 Diner http://www.metro29diner.com/

For chain restaurants, you might look at:

In the rear parking lot of the Seven Corners Shopping Center is a Red Robin (6331 Seven Corners Center, Falls Church, VA)

If you drive east on Leesburg Pike (Route 7), between Carlin Springs Road and South Jefferson Street, you will come to a Chili's and an Olive Garden. (Chili's 5501 Leesburg Pike Falls Church; Olive Garden- 3548 South Jefferson Street FAlls Church)

If there is a particular kind of food you'd like to eat, let me know. We've got just about everything in the Arlington/Falls Church area.

Thank you! This list is so helpful. I've written down all the names and addresses so I can plug into the GPS later. That should definitely be enough, since we're only staying for a few days.

If you have a car you have a huge number of options within a five to 10 minute drive. In addition to the ones Longhorn listed (I will second Elevation Burger and the Diner as favorites), there is a new seafood place called Chasin' Tails across the corner from the french place, that is about a block from your hotel. I've not been to it yet but it seems to be growing in popularity.

On Lee Highway near Joe's Pizza you have District Taco, which is a local chain offering high quality fairly cheap 'fast' Mexican food.

Over by the Red Robin mentioned above (same shopping center), there is a local brew pub called Dog Fish Ale House that we love for both the food and the beer (and it is quite young kid friendly).

Slightly further away from your hotel -- a full 10 minute drive depending on traffic -- are the best Italian subs and pizza by the slice in Arlington at the Italian Store in Lyon Village. If you ever drive into or out of the city, it isn't too far out of your way.

There are lots of others. If you want a particular type of food odds are there's a good example within 10 minutes of your hotel.
