Charter Bus Company

We have a large group that will be staying in Alexandria and we would like to charter a bus from our hotel to Quantico for an event we will be attending. Can anyone recommend a charter bus company? Right now I don't have an exact number of people. The largest coach most of the companies seem to have is 55-61 passenger, so right now that's what I'm trying to price. I was just wondering if anyone had any positive (or negative) reviews.

I did a search for "charter bus" both in this forum and the Washington DC forum. Nothing came up that would help you (mostly where charter buses can park). You may want to try calling Quantico or else posting this request on the Washington DC forum which has a lot more readers and posters. Any charter bus company would serve both areas

Sorry, I could not help you. I did not want you to think you were being ignored, but I just don't know.

If there's nothing available in Northern VA, you might try James River. They're out of Richmond, but I see their busses all over the state.

Thanks Charm2017. I did the same thing and came up with nothing, that's why I thought I would ask. I called 5 companies for rates and came up with a variety of prices. I was hoping to find some reviews from people that used these companies. I've heard horror stories of people being stranded because of a charter company. I did get one of the companies names from the hotel we're staying at, but it wasn't really a review, just a statement that others staying at the hotel have used them. I'll try posting on the DC sight to see if anyone can give their recommendation.

I've never had to book a charter bus, and I've never used either of these companies, but my sense is Martz / Gray Line (http://www.martzgroupva.com/ or http://graylinedc.com/) are the biggest players in the D.C. area. Bigger does not necessarily mean better, but I know they have lots of buses and that major organizations in the area have booked with them. So at least the fly-by-night aspect won't be part of your worry.

My company has booked smaller buses with Sunny's Limo before and been reasonably pleased with them. It looks like they have larger coaches: http://www.sunnylimo.com/buses_coaches.php but we've never gotten one that big. My sense is that their prices tend to be high, as they do a lot of corporate work, but it's another name you can explore.

Sorry nobody has been able to provide more concrete guidance than that.
