Six Flags in Arlington (Help w/ hotel please!) |
|
I have read and read the hotel reviews for Arlington/Six Flags - and they are either so scary or so pricey! Does anyone have any suggestion? There are a group of us going - we want pool and breakfast and best of all - CLEAN! But not very exspensive. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, SherrillHooker26

we always stay at Studio Plus on Lamar St. (817-649-0021) which is right across the interstate (30). its easy in and out. you can google studio plus, or it is part of Extended Stay America Hotels. you can get a room with a fold out couch and 2 double beds usually for about $69+ tax. there is no breakfast, but these rooms have a full kitchen, and there are 2 really big convienence stores on the corners to the west on lamar st. we just get donuts, milk and whatever for breakfast. there are 5 of us, so it works out nicely, always enough room. we usually are so busy, we don't ever try to swim, but they do have an outdoor pool. if the pool is a big issue for you, i would check a couple days before, to make sure there are no problems, sometmes when you make your ressie, and verify they have a pool, just to get there, and its closed for maint. or cleaning, or something else. I mean at any hotel you stay with. The only trouble we have ever had here, was one time they put us in a smoking room, and my daughter has asthma, and we had to change, they were full, but they gave us the "demo" come have a look room, so It worked out fine.

We moved here a couple of years ago and actually lived in a hotel close to 6 flags for two whole months. We had a two bedroom at the Townplace Suites by Marriott. Very safe there (safer than off 360!!!) and a nice pool. They have smaller units as well. Good luck. They had a breakfast where you could make your own waffles, but I don't think anything else was hot. Cookies in the evenings, but not restaurant.

Crowne Plaza will fit 6 to a room... nice indoor pool, parents can sneak down to the atrium for a drink after putting the kids to bed or watching a movie.

Thanks everyone for your in-put. We were there last week, stayed in a Quality Inn & Suites near the airport in Irving, it was very nice. I wrote review about it as well. Thanks again, Sherrill Hooker

There is a LaQuinta within walking distance to Six Flags. It faces Highway 360 and the I30 intersection I do not know the price, but the building is only about a 2 yrs old. Good location- close to all the attractions.

La Quinta is the closest hotel to the entrance of Six Flags. It is a short walk across the street. I have never stayed there, but I did attend a meeting there. It is very nice and clean. La Quintas are usually in the $99 to $129 range.

Thank you everyone. We went there already on July 8 and had a great time. Thanks for the in-puts. Love, Sherrill

sherrillhoooker: Sorry to hear you did not pay attention to the suggestions here. Irving near the airport? May have been OK, but you could have stayed at a much better property and been within walking distance to the park for about the same money.
