I have seen some very mixed reports from the Tropicano Bodrum Club but all from last year. Has this hotel just had a name change to cover up a bad reputation or has their actually been a refit. I am unable to find any reports on this hotel this year, has anyone stayed there, and what is it like! Help please I dont know wheather to book this hotel or not. Thanks Martin

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Turkey. Although we booked for 1 week at the resort, we only stayed 3 days. It was Butlins in Turkey!!!

The food was good, view from the room was amazing, the room was wasn't that bad. However there was broken curtain rails, a dripping tap, a fridge that wasn't switch on (however, it was plugged in), and a shower that you couldn't swing a cat in.

We would of had a problem if we were old, or wheel chair bound, as the resort was hilly, and definitely not deisgned with wheelchair access in mind.

We were outnumbered by Russians. One night there was a fight between a Scotish and a Russian, which the police got involved in, and was woken up at 3 am by a Russian couple next door having a arguement.

The unhelpful reception staff (amny of which are Russian) and the manager which we could get hold off, made us cut short our holiday at this resort.

We are a group of 5 workmates of differing ages , we want to have some nightlife but neither on site or too far away, plenty of shopping a good laugh and nice surroundings, IsThe Green Beach Resort the place for us? need urgent advice as operators are offering this as an upgrade to 5 star as other hotel is closing in October (thats when we are going), judging from some of the reviews we are not quite confident that it sounds like a 5 star!!!!! PLEASE HELP!

NO NO NO NO NO NO Do not go to the green beach i have been on the worst weeks holiday in my life.

In one week my friend and i had FOUR rooms, the first room had half the wall missing in the bathroom with something running around in the wallspace, second room had the most awful smell of raw sewage in it ,Third room was ok untill the building next to caught fire we returned home to find a room full of smoke and our fire alarm not working ,i had to knock on everybody elses door to get them up and out .

Fourth room was ok as well.

All the bar staff seem to have been shown a trick of juggling ice cubes then put them in your drink (hmmm hygene) also in the so called night club the bar staff wash Sorry i mean rinse the glasses in a bowl of water then pour your drink.

Food was ok for maybe a 3* most of the food was cold or not very nice.

All the staff were rude and or just didnt care ,when i asked why nobody was evacuated i was asked do you think we should?

This is the most awful hotel i have ever stayed in in my life you have to walk about an hour just to get to any shops outside of the hotel.

The reason it is now called Green Beach Resort and not Tropicano Bodrum Club is because it was on holidays from hell last year , oh and yes they did have a refit but only in the lobby.

I feel a lot better now getting that of my chest but if anyone is thinking of going there i am not just a fussy brit that complains about everthing the hotel is just bad.

Hi my partner and I went to Green Beach 21st August for a week.

After reading the reports we were wondering what we were going to encounter. Arrived at 4 am, shown to bungalow by bellboy. Pitch black walking down, no lighting.

Air conditioning wasnt working so had to have maintenance in, fixed this but 10 minutes after leaving electric blew. Demanded a new room, was moved. Quite basic but clean and livable.

By the next morning we were wondering what the hell we had come to, but this holiday inproved day by day.

Great choice of pools, from quiet to lively.

The entertainment area had activities happening throughout the day.

Something on every night!

Found the bar staff at the main outdoor bar, very friendly.

Food- continental breakfast as most visitors are German (very rude and ignorant). However evening meal was fine lots of choice and you can see the chefs preparing the food in front of you. Lunchtime- choice of fresh pizza made on outdoor oven by the slide pool or pizza, burgers and chips, or full lunch up in the restaurant. (our favourite was the fresh pizza, YUM YUM!)

Buses to Gundogen and Bodrum run every hour, cheap and helpful.

Bodrum lovely although rather bustling.

Would go again, but wouldnt take our daughter as the hotel is on the side of a hill, walking from the sea to room was quite a hike, especially in the hot weather.

But for 2 30 year olds, was fun, everything you need in one complex.

Would try and get in the main building as bungalows are not up to same standard.

For what we paid could not have asked for more.

It was not just my friend and i complaining it was most of the people we spoke to.

Yes you do get what you pay for but i have paid far less and got a lot lot better.

The three main problems were

1. Rooms

2.Hygene of staff

3.Cold or Bad food.

this is just my idea of a bad hotel

Overall our holiday there was ok, we were disappointed with many things...the lack of variety in the restaraunt, many of the facilities had been closed for the season (water slides, no entertainment, very little activities through the day) , the location was not so good the only place to walk to was a small town, and if you wanted to go to bodrum it was hour bus journey and you had to pay! The green beach is not an ideal place for young children or disabled citizens as it was all steps, ramps and hills. The only entertainment we had was a disco which started at 10 or 11pm til early hours of the morning, this was mainly aimed at a young adult audience, due to the lack of variety in music. The staff were friendly (due to me and my sister being 18 and 17) however on our last day, we witnessed an assault on a young boy by one of the bar staff. This created a bad atmosphere between guests and staff at the green beach resort. We did not see any cleaners around the hotel however our rooms were satisfactory. We did not see our rep during our stay at the green beach resort, however this did not hinder our stay, as we were only staying a week. This hotel is not a 5* hotel at all, it was poorly managed and organised.

We stayed at a private / luxury villa owned by a Turkish-American, Mr. Levent Ileri in Washington, DC. We had the best times of our lives. Mr. Ileri was very information and helpful before, during, and after our trip. We feel we made a new friend, without meeting him in person. He ownes two villas, Villa Bahce and Villa Selim. They are located about 5-10 minute drive (or 15 minutes Dolmus ride) from the Village of Gundogan. If you are interested in his villas, please visit his web site at http://www.TurkishSeaSideVilla.com I recommend this place highly.
