Hi,

We shall be staying in KL for one night and two days for sightseeing and shopping. We are four including two teen age children. We need a hotel near major 'reasonablly priced' shopping areas where we can get clothes and electronics. Also the hotel should be near public transport, which I guess would be the monorail? I heard that it takes long to get around in taxis with all the traffic etc....

The hotel should be 3 to 4 star with cost around 65 to $90 a day. I found two, the Corus and Equatorial. Any suggestions would be welcome.

thanks.

I havent stayed at equatorial hotel before but i did at corus and didnt like it, its across the street from Suria KLCC and thats the only advantage about it, i will rate it as 3 stars. the standard rooms are smelly and staff were rude and when i got home i noticed some of my items were missing and i suspect that the house keeping might have taken them..

I am thinking of staying in the Bukit Bintang area only near all the shopping places. How is Hotel Melia?

try the following -

Federal Hotel

Bintang Warisan

KL Plaza Suites

Hotel Capitol

Radius International

The Coronade Hotel

Royal Bintang

These are good location hotels. They are not 5 stars so will have imperfections. but meet the location requirements.

Thanks for your suggestions. I was tending to choose Melia because of the location right in the middle of the shopping district. Is Park Royal or Coronade or the others situated there only?

I also heard that the monorail was right opp. Melia.

How further are the others?

Most are in the same area, walking distance (although may not be right in front). If you want right in front then its Melia and Parkroyal.
