Ryokan Kogetsuso

Has anyone else tried this ryokan? I'm going to be staying there and am hoping it's as good as the review claims. Thank you!

Kogetsuso stands on the left-hand side of the road leading to the great gate of Nanzenji Temple. Its beige-colored wall is very distinctive; I have never gone inside, though. It’s more of a Kyoto-style restaurant with accommodations than a time-honored exclusive ryokan where outsiders are not allowed to come to dine. But its surroundings are greater than some of the best ryokans in Kyoto, I think. Yes, Nanzenji Temple and Eikando Hall will afford Kogetsuso’s guests the wonderful opportunity to experience the ambience of central east Kyoto. The ryokan lies between Higashiyama / Gion and the Ginkakuji area, and you have an easy access to “Philosopher’s Road.”

Other ryokans with greater Japanese gardens around the Nanzenji area will be as follows:

Enjoy your stay.
