Kintetsu (Shuin-ticket) from Kyoto to Ise Shrine (Mie)

Hi, does anyone know if Kintetsu railway sells the special Shuin-ticket to Ise-Toba area? I read in some forums that from Kyoto, this ticket is 6000 yen
inclusive return Limited express fare and Ise-Toba area bus service. Please let me know if you have more information about this. Thanks!

I think this was a promotion intended for local tourists for last year when they had the 62nd anniversary of rebuilding the shrine building which happens every 20 years at the Naiku (Inner Shrine) and commemorated its 2000 year anniversary as well.

You can still get the Kintetsu Rail Pass and its WIDE version including airport access, which are probably better deals overall for foreign tourists. 5 days for travels between tourist highlights of Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Yoshino, Iga Ueno, Ise Shima, and Nagoya should be great if you plan in advance and use it correctly.

The Geku (Outer Shrine) can be walked from Kintetsu's Uji Yamada Station and it's a short bus/taxi ride to Naiku (Inner Shrine) from Uji Yamada or Isuzugawa Station. After the shrine(s) visit, do enjoy a stroll around the old pilgrimage town of Oharaimachi (Okage Yokocho), testing local food such as Tekonezushi, Ise Udon, and Akafuku mochi. Stay perhaps at a onsen ryokan facing the sea in Ago Bay (Kashikojima Station) or Toba, eat Ise lobster as sashimi.

Info on Ise Shrine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ise_Grand_Shrine

Some people are rather disappointed to see "brand new" rebuilt buildings and its outside going through the forest, but I'd have to say it's just so according to the very essential Japanese practice. It's great if you combine the sanctuary visit with the museum to explain things and the tour of the pilgrimage town.

Hi Yobeekool

Thanks again for your help. I am not a foreign tourist exactly as I am working in Japan. I guess I have to buy the usual transportation fees to get there. Thanks for your valuable information!
